Corruption Case In Russia: Hewlett-Packard (HP) Faces A $58 Million Fine!

There were strong charges on the former employees of the American company Hewlett-Packard (HP) that they have given bribes to the authorities in Russia in 2003 in exchange for acquiring the agreement and they have accepted the charges. The American company agreed to pay $58.7 million as a fine that was imposed by a Court of the United States.

The United States prosecutors have blamed the Hewlett-Packard (HP) division from the Russian for giving $2 million to get an important contract. According to an official of the California Court, the Hewlett-Packard (HP) subsidiary from the Russia have violated the federal law and had used the millions of dollars in bribes for the Russian authorities to get a very important and profitable government contract. The trial took place in a California Court.

It looks like that the Hewlett-Packard (HP) subsidiary formed a secret fund that worth millions of dollars and the contract that they obtained was worth like 35 million and it involved the Minister of Justice of the Russia.

The statement that reveals the payment of $ 58.7 million as a fine by the Hewlett-Packard (HP) is a part of a more wide-ranging agreement that is reached by the Hewlett-Packard (HP) and the American authorities in the April.

According to the reports, the Hewlett-Packard (HP) is agreeing to pay 108 million dollars for the bribing officials in Mexico, Russian and Poland.

According to the spokesman of the Hewlett-Packard (HP), John Schultz, he said that there were only a few employees who were involved in the corruption cases and he furthermore added that those employees are no longer attached with the Hewlett-Packard (HP) and they are not at all concerned with the group anymore.
